What We're Looking For

We are looking for a Hip Hop Instructor who:

• Has a strong background in Hip Hop dance and understands age-appropriate Hip Hop technique and movement

• Loves working with children and teens

• Brings positive, engaging energy to the classroom

• Is dependable, prepared, teachable, and professional

• Encourages students while also challenging them to grow

• Values teamwork and communicates well with students, families, and staff

• Is willing to continue learning and growing as an instructor

• Understands and supports Pep's commitment to providing a family-friendly environment

 

Family-Friendly Hip Hop

This is especially important at Pep.  Our Hip Hop classes should allow students to experience the energy, creativity, musicality, and style of Hip Hop while remaining appropriate for their age and our family-friendly studio environment.

Our Hip Hop Instructor is expected to:

• Select clean, family-friendly music with age-appropriate lyrics, themes, and messages

• Use choreography and movement that are appropriate for the age of the students

• Avoid movements, gestures, choreography, or performance styles that are sexually suggestive or otherwise inappropriate for children

• Create choreography that showcases Hip Hop style, rhythm, personality, musicality, and technique without compromising Pep's standards

• Follow Pep guidelines for music, choreography, costuming, and performance content

• Be willing to make adjustments when music or choreography does not align with studio standards

 

Instructor Responsibilities

• Plan and teach engaging, well-structured Hip Hop classes

• Teach Hip Hop technique, vocabulary, rhythm, musicality, choreography, and performance skills

• Adapt instruction appropriately for different ages and ability levels

• Encourage and support students while maintaining clear classroom expectations

• Prepare students and choreography for studio performances and productions

• Participate in applicable studio-wide events

• Communicate effectively with Pep leadership, fellow staff members, students, and families

• Help maintain clean, organized studio spaces

• Participate in training and continuing education opportunities
