Our dance classes at Pep & Pizzazz are divided into four age groups:

Minis:  Ages 6-8

Juniors: Ages 9-12

Seniors:  Ages 13 and up

Each style of dance that we teach follows a curriculum specific to that genre.  We are passionate about teaching proper technique in a way that is developmentally appropriate, safe, and rooted in proven science-based practices.  Along with an emphasis on technique, we also strive to create classes that allow students to tap into their own creativity, foster positive peer interaction, and create a community in which our students can thrive!

Tap & Jazz Combo (Minis & Juniors)

Our Tap & Jazz Combo is an age specific class that utilizes the Show Stars Curriculum. This class gives students a fantastic skills base and exposure to both tap and jazz. We have found that this “combination” class helps to keep the kids excited, interested, and focused for the entire class period. In this class your dancer will learn the proper skills and progressions for both tap and jazz.  Of course we add in our own Pep & Pizzazz style of to every class!!  (Minis - Ages 6-8, 55 min, $50 per month) (Juniors - Ages 9-12, 1 hr & 25 min, $55 per month).

Hip Hop
(Minis, Juniors, Seniors & Adults)

This upbeat class introduces young dancers to hip hop fundamentals and uses age-appropriate and non-suggestive music and movements. Students will learn rhythm and coordination. This class utilizes the Show Stars Curriculum and is an excellent class for high-energy kids who want to take a fast and fun dance class.  (55 minutes, $50 a month)

(Minis, Juniors, & Seniors)

(Ballet Required, Enrollment Pending Testing)

Our ballet program uses a leveled curriculum created by our very own Ms. Mara.  It is designed to teach skills that correspond to the child's developmental stage in terms of their age.  This class will provide a solid base of ballet technique for your dancer, while also teaching musicality and body awareness.  Students will be encouraged to learn the discipline of ballet while also exploring their own creativity and artistry. (55 min, $40 a month)

Pointe technique is the part of classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet within pointe shoes.  It is a beautiful style of dance that is very physically challenging and demanding.  In order to ensure dancer safety, this class is only available to students who have extensive experience in ballet.  Students must tested and approved by their ballet teacher prior to enrollment.   (55 min, $40 a month).

**Students interested in dancing in pointe shoes can check out our Pointe Track which will provide them with the training needed to dance safely on pointe.  Click the PDF link for more info!

Contemporary (Juniors & Seniors)

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.  Contemporary is very free and encourages the dancer to explore creative freedom, while pushing the boundaries of classic styles of dance. (55 min, $40 a month)

Tap - Jazz

Our Senior Tap and Senior Jazz classes are designed so that our students can really experience progress and growth in their dancing.  Each of these classes include a technical warm up, center floor and across the floor work on technical skills, and combination work. Students are encouraged not only to refine their skills but we also encourage creativity and expression through combinations and improvisational activities. It is our hope to see our dancers not only be equipped with the skills needed in excel in each genre of dance but also with the confidence to take their movement from just movement to dancing!
